Dear Pool Owner,

Congratulations on your decision to build a pool!

Now you need to ensure you meet your obligations with regards barrier safety and compliance. That's where we come in. This letter outlines how we help you have a successful, safe and certified pool installation journey.

1. On-site consultation and plan preparation

If you choose to proceed with an on-site consultation, one of our accredited pool specialists will work with you to scope out the following aspects of your pool installation project:

  • Locating the pool
  • Foundation requirements
  • Electrical connection
  • Decking options
  • Pool fencing
  • Boundary fence requirements

Following our site visit, we will prepare a set of plans for your approval.

The cost of consultation is $550.00 (including GST).

2. Building Permit Application

We will obtain the building permit on your behalf. The fees are listed further down on this page.

There are a number of scenarios where non-standard consents are required, which incur fees from statutory authorities (for example, building over an easement.) When these scenarios occur, we can apply for consent on your behalf. We will advise you of costs incurred prior to the application.

If you are an owner builder, there is some additional information we will need you to provide before the permit can be issued. We have listed this further down this page.

If you intent to engage a registered builder, they will obtain the information we require to get your permit issued.

3. Trade Works (if required)

Once we confirm your scope of work we can also refer you to one of our trade partners for any trade services you require. Our trade service options include deck construction, slab pour, boundary fence works and pool barrier installation.

4. Arrange Final Certification

Upon completion, we will undertake desktop audit of your installation to confirm everything is ready for final inspection and advise you how to lodge with relevant authorities.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us on 0410 430 811 or info@poolsafetynetwork.com.au.

Kind regards,

Nick Hutchins (Director)

Council Asset Protection Permit

Your council may require an asset protection permit to safeguard council assets from potential damage during construction. We recommend confirming this directly with council, as it is the owner's responsibility to ensure compliance.
