New Spa Owner Engagement Letter
This document outlines our journey to a successful, safe and certified spa, including the service scope, fees and notes relating to your project.
Dear Spa Owner,
Congratulations on your decision to purchase a new spa!
Now you need to ensure you meet your obligations with regards barrier safety and compliance. That’s where we come in. This letter outlines our journey to a successful, safe and certified spa.
1. On-site consultation
One of our accredited pool and spa compliance consultants will come to undertake an on-site survey and consultation. During the survey we will take you through all aspects of your spa installation including:
- Locating the spa
- Concrete slab requirements
- Electrical connection
- Decking options
- Barrier compliance options
- Boundary fence requirements
The cost of the on-site assessment is $198 (including GST).
2. Building Permit Application
Following the on-site consultation, we will prepare a set of plans for your approval, then we will obtain the building permit on your behalf. The fees are listed further down on this page.
There are a number of scenarios where non-standard consents are required, which incur fees from statutory authorities (for example, building over easement). When these scenarios occur, we can apply for consent on your behalf. We will advise you of costs incurred prior to the application.
3. Trade Works
Once we confirm your preferred spa barrier design we will provide a fixed price quote to undertake agreed works. The quote will include any supplementary work required to meet your compliance obligations (e.g. boundary fence upgrades, if applicable).
Our quote also includes guaranteed certification. If your pool barrier fails final inspection due to any issue related to the pool barrier we will correct it free of charge.
4. Undertake Construction Works
We will construct your pool barrier and any other required works under supervision from one of our project managers.
5. Arrange Final Certification
We will arrange final inspection and certification paperwork and advise you how to lodge with relevant authorities.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us on 0410 430 811.
Kind regards,
Nick Hutchins
